1988 Operación Space Shuttle leaflet

Operación Space Shuttle was the second leaflet with a contest released in 1988 in Spain. The growing popularity in the first year of G.I. Joe in the country brought a bigger presence in the toy shops of the brand with dozens of these leaflets being available for kids in them.

To illustrate the cover, Hasbro Iberia decided to use the famous Will Meugniot´s GI Joe A Real American Hero Season One promo poster.

The contest consisted of five questions in which kids had to guess the pilots of five vehicles: Hovercraft W.H.A.L.E., A.W.E. Striker, Dragonfly, Thunder Machine and H.A.V.O.C. Answers should be sent before January 15th, 1989.

The prizes to be won were 10 Defiant Space Shuttles and 100 videotapes with G.I. Joe cartoons. Defiant never was available in Spain so it really was great reward for Spanish kids!!
